Comfort Chefs has always run on two principles: love and family. That’s not a tagline — it’s the literal structure of the business. What Chef Gianni D’Offizi started in his home kitchen is today a true family enterprise, run across two generations and two regions, with the same recipes and the same standards behind every meal.


Chef Gianni — the founder

Gianni learned to cook at 14 in his late father’s kitchen and mastered the craft in family homes across Italy. He built Comfort Chefs on that foundation, paired with 20 years of franchise head-office experience and an NQF6 in Hospitality. He leads the kitchen and serves the Free State and beyond.

Tonita — like father, like daughter

The passion for food runs in the family blood. Before joining her father’s kitchen, Tonita built a culinary path of her own — she cheffed at the Sandton Sun, then founded and ran her own catering and home-cooked-meals company until mid-2019. So when she says she’s nifty in the kitchen, it’s not a turn of phrase; it’s a career.

Today she carries Comfort Chefs into Gauteng and the Western Cape, bringing the Bloemfontein kitchen to families across two more provinces. Alongside her cooking, she brings the business its backbone — a qualification in Business Administration and Management, and a genuinely people-first way of working. Approachable, driven and full of initiative, Tonita’s focus is simple: render the best professional service there is to offer, and look after the people on the other end of every order.

Where Gianni built the food, Tonita is building the reach — and she knows her way around the kitchen just as well. Same family, same standards.

The cold chain stays unbroken. Every Comfort Chefs delivery — Gauteng or Western Cape — is carried by The Frozen Food Courier on a fully R638-compliant cold chain, the South African regulation governing safe handling of frozen and perishable food. From our freezer to your door, the temperature never lapses.
