Comfort Chefs Returns & Refund Policy

We are committed to operating our business in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act, and this Returns & Refund Policy is aligned therewith. Because our meals are prepared to order and are perishable frozen Goods, please review the terms below carefully before placing an Order.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalised have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

  • Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our” in this Agreement) refers to Comfort Chefs, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
  • Goods refer to the prepared, frozen meals and related items offered for sale on the Service.
  • Orders mean a request by You to purchase Goods from Us.
  • Service refers to the Website.
  • Website refers to Comfort Chefs, accessible from https://regional.comfortchefs.co.za
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Returns and Exchanges

Returns are not accepted and exchanges are not accepted. Our Goods are prepared to order and are perishable frozen food items. In the interest of food safety and hygiene, and in accordance with applicable public health and food safety regulations, perishable Goods cannot be returned to Us once they have been dispatched or delivered.

The following Goods cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Goods prepared to Your specifications or made to order.
  • Perishable Goods which, by their nature, are not suitable to be returned or which deteriorate rapidly.
  • Goods which are not suitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons once delivered.

Order Cancellations and Amendments

Because every Order is prepared fresh and made to order, cancellations and amendments are only possible before Your Order enters preparation.

  • Before preparation begins: You may cancel or amend Your Order at no charge by contacting Us using the details below.
  • Once preparation has begun: The Order can no longer be cancelled, amended or refunded, as the perishable Goods have been committed to production for You.

Damaged, Spoiled or Incorrect Orders

Your satisfaction and the integrity of our cold chain matter to Us. While we do not accept returns or exchanges, we will put right any Order that arrives damaged, spoiled or incorrect.

If Your Order arrives damaged, spoiled, or is not what You ordered, please notify Us within 24 hours of delivery so that We can resolve it. To process Your claim, please:

  • Contact Us within 24 hours of delivery using the details below; and
  • Provide Your Order number together with clear photographs of the affected Goods and, where relevant, the packaging.

Once Your claim is verified, We will, at Our discretion, either replace the affected Goods on the next available delivery or issue a refund for those Goods. Refunds are made using the same means of payment You used for the Order, and You will not incur any fees for such reimbursement.

We reserve the right to decline a claim that does not meet the above conditions, in our sole discretion.

Refunds

Where a refund is due in terms of this policy, We will process it within a reasonable period after Your claim is verified, using the same payment method used for the original Order.
